Animal Ward
In our general animal ward we have a bank of stainless steel cages of varying sizes. Stainless steel is widely recognised as being the best for cleaning and therefore disease control. As they can appear to be cold we also make use of heating pads under bedding to ensure our patients stay warm. We only use Dry Fleece bedding as this is very soft and warm for the animals. It also enables moisture to be wicked away from the animals and it can withstand the rigorous and frequent washing and cleaning.
This room has its own air-conditioning system so that the temperature can be maintained at an appropriate level for the animals without being affected by the rest of the building. This room is also connected to our specialized exhaust and fresh air flow system which ensures the removal of unpleasant odours and the supply of fresh air.
In here we also have a food preparation area with a bar fridge for storing any foods or medications. This ward is a quieter area where our patients can rest whilst waiting to be collected by their owners. In here we also have a run for larger dogs, or for sharing or alpacas.
