Clinical Pathology
Meadows Veterinary Centre has invested in the latest complete in-house laboratory equipment from Idexx Australia. We also have centrifuges, microscopes and faecal analysis equipment.
Clinical pathology involves the laboratory evaluation of blood, bodily fluids or body tissues in order to identify existing disease. Common laboratory tests include blood chemistries, complete blood counts, blood clotting times, urinalysis, faecal tests, biopsy examination, cytology, therapeutic drug level testing and infectious disease testing. Test results are often available when run in-house in 15-30 minutes. This allows our veterinarians to rapidly assess, diagnose and properly treat your pet, especially in emergency situations.
For complex cases, disease panel testing, cultures and histopathology, we utilise both Idexx and Gribbles laboratories in Adelaide. Both of these companies collect samples from us daily, ensuring results are yielded as soon as possible.
