Faecal Egg Counts (FEC)

Meadows Veterinary Centre is able to provide faecal egg counts in our in-house laboratory to help you assess the effectiveness of your worming programs for your livestock. FEC's help to identify ongoing worm burdens, as well as prevent unnecessary over administration of wormer to your livestock, which can lead to parasite resistance. 

For optimal results FEC's should be performed 14 days after a deworming treatment has been administered to your stock.  

Results of your FEC can be discussed with our veterinarians if required to help develop an effective worming program for your property.
