Ultrasound

Our hospital is fully equipped with a state of the art ultrasound scanner to assist evaluation of your pet’s condition if required.  Our veterinarians will discuss your pet’s case and conduct a thorough physical examination to determine if your pet requires an ultrasound examination. An ultrasound scan is a very important, non-invasive tool, to help us diagnose diseases in animals, particularly for conditions involving soft tissues, such as those found in the abdomen, or the heart.

As animals need to remain still and calm in different positions for a period of time to allow the ultrasound images to be collected, in some cases this may mean we have to sedate your pet. 

For complex cases we work with The Austin Vet Specialists who are able to assist us in the practice.
